Zona provided the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design for this multi-phased project. The University of Arizona Global Center, Phase 2 project involved heavy renovation of 10,000 sq. ft. of existing administrative offices, meeting spaces, food service areas, common areas, and office space. The renovation included new conference rooms, team rooms and computer labs.
Mechanical design includes the reconfiguration and redistribution of the existing HVAC system to work with the new space. Electrical design includes power, LED lighting and special system layouts fully coordinated with the users, equipment, furniture and architect. Traditional electrical engineering services were provided which included new power distribution, power/lighting/low voltage design, and load analysis. The plumbing design includes reconfiguration of the water, waste and vent lines to work with the new space. Plumbing design also confirms the existing piping was sized properly to handle the renovation. A feasibility study was required at the beginning of the project to confirm the existing infrastructure had adequate capacity to support the proposed project.
We provided site investigation, construction documents in Revit, and construction administration services.
