ELECTRICAL DESIGNER I

Our office is looking for an Electrical Designer I who can contribute to the overall engineering design of the electrical systems including power and lighting floor plans, one-lines, load calculations, photometrics and special systems.  


Responsibilities      

  • Production of AutoCAD and Revit drawings of high quality, complete, and accurate     
  • Perform electrical load calculations using computer software     
  • Develop technical specifications and data sheets     
  • Electrical distribution sizing     
  • Generate energy code compliance certificates     
  • Assists in field work with engineers and designers, checking installations, and problem-solving activities     
  • Work with product reps to select equipment and gather budgetary pricing     
  • Performs calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews     
  • Coordination between all architectural and engineering disciplines  


Qualifications      

  • A graduate with an ABET-accredited electrical or architectural engineering degree with zero to five years of experience  
  • A graduate with a Computer-Aided Design  Associate of Applied Science with Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Designer  Certificate with zero to five years of experience 
  • Tech-savvy; MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit preferred     
  • Self-motivated, team player, enthusiastic with a willingness to learn     
  • Passed or willing to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam     
  • The right combination of character, initiative, drive and attitude; attributes that are more important than technical skills  
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP

Engineering students are considered to be an integral part of the engineering staff and are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating.  Under guidance of the senior engineering staff, the students will be provided an excellent learning environment for electrical engineering interns.  The intern will assist with the electrical team’s continued project workload.  


Responsibilities  

Participate in self-paced and in-house learning programs to gain the skills required to perform the tasks listed below:      

  • Production of AutoCAD and Revit drawings of high quality, complete, and accurate     
  • Perform electrical load calculations using computer software     
  • Develop technical specifications and data sheets     
  • Electrical distribution sizing     
  • Performs calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews     
  • Coordination between all architectural and engineering disciplines  


Qualifications      

  • Tech-savvy; MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit preferred    
  • Self-motivated, team player, enthusiastic with a willingness to learn    
  • Interested in possible long term employment in Tucson     
  • The right combination of character, initiative, drive and attitude; attributes that are more important than technical skills 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

MECHANICAL DESIGNER I

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer I who can contribute to the overall engineering design of the mechanical and plumbing systems including heating, ventilation, cooling, exhaust, gas, potable water, sanitary, sewer, fire suppression, and specialty systems.  


Responsibilities      

  • Production of AutoCAD and Revit drawings of high quality, complete, and accurate     
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations using software software     
  • Develop technical specifications and data sheets  
  • HVAC ductwork and piping design
  • Plumbing design (sanitary waste and vent, domestic water, natural gas, etc.)
  • Fire protection system design criteria   
  • Generate energy code compliance certificates  
  • Assists in field work with engineers and designers, checking installations, and problem-solving activities

  • Coordination between all architectural and engineering disciplines  


Qualifications      

  • A soon-to-be graduate or a graduate with an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree (preferred) with zero to five years of experience; or
  • A soon-to-be graduate or a graduate with a Computer-Aided Design Associate of Applied Science with Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Designer Certificate with zero to five years of experience
  • A Plumbing and/or Mechanical Piping Designer with zero to five years of experience
  • Tech-savvy; MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit preferred    
  • Self-motivated, team player, enthusiastic with a willingness to learn     
  • Passed or willing to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam  (applies to candidate with an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree only)
