Zona provided complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) engineering services for the renovation of The Treasury 1929, a historic bank building transformed into one of downtown Tucson's premier wedding and event venues. Originally constructed as a financial institution, the building retains many of its original architectural features, including three historic bank vaults that have been carefully preserved and repurposed into some of the venue's most distinctive spaces.

The renovation modernized the building while preserving its historic character. Improvements included upgrades to the speakeasy-style basement, main event hall, mezzanine, bridal suite, support spaces, and a new commercial kitchen.

Mechanical engineering services included upgrades to the air handling unit (AHU) control systems, air distribution, a dedicated split-system heat pump serving the bridal suite, kitchen exhaust systems, restroom exhaust, and break room ventilation. Because the building includes a below-grade basement, Zona also designed a new grinder sump pump system to support the restrooms, bar, and small kitchen.

Electrical engineering services included upgrades to the building's power distribution, energy-efficient LED lighting systems, electrical one-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, and coordination of new electrical infrastructure to support modern event operations while integrating seamlessly within the existing historic building. Plumbing and fire protection systems were similarly modernized to improve building functionality while respecting the original architecture.

Zona prepared construction documents in AutoCAD and provided construction administration services throughout the project, coordinating closely with the owner and contractor to successfully integrate modern building systems into this historic downtown landmark.
